About LeWeb Conference

LeWeb is the #1 Internet event in Europe.

LeWeb started in 2005 with only 250 attendees, second edition still in 2005 gathered 500 people, 1000 in 2006... and on december 2007 1800 participants from 40 countries met in Paris.

For this 5th edition we want again Paris to be the center of the Internet for 2 days on Dec 9th and 10th 2008

This 2008 edition moves to a new level , starting with a brand new place in Paris the 104, which has an easy access by metro.

In 2006,  
LeWeb attracted high tech speakers marquee names Niklas Zennström (founder of Kazaa, Skype, Joost), Hans Rosling (Professor of International Health Gapminder), Reid Hoffman (Founder of Linked In), Tariq Krim (Founder of Netvibes) and World leaders such as Shimon Peres, Nicolas Sarkozy.

In 2007, 
The leaders returned with Janus Friis (founder of Kazaa, Skype, Joost), Evan Williams (Twitter), Kevin Rose (digg), Patrick Chanezon (Google Open Social) and Dan Rose
( Facebook).
LeWeb also expanded perspective with the voices of  world-renowned voices like designer Philippe Starck.

In 2008,
We really have in mind all your feedback for 2007 to create this year event.
LeWeb shift even more strongly from being *just* a tech conference to an event touching on more wide-reaching topics. As the Internet has become even more about our lives and not just technology, so will this year’s LeWeb touch on a deeper array of topics. Already we are gathering some amazing personalities for this year’s speaker roster....

Extending the success of last year's networking venue, this year's LeWeb expands the space with several spaces adjacent to the plenary stage. We want attendees to get the opportunity to meet the speakers, entrepreneurs to meet investors to share ideas, open new opportunities.

The StarUp Competition is an event in the event. We dedicate a space for this competition which is a great opportunity for rising stars to  get more visibility in front of business leaders, investors and technology influencers.
