If you are really interested the Talk plan, you may consider going for the Unlimited plan because you only need to add $5 more dollars to get it rather than spend $15 for 250 minutes.
Under the connect plans which offer you text and data, you have the options of going with the 250 MB at $5 per month, 2GB at $10 per month, 5GB at $20 per month, 10GB at $30 per month, and 20GB at $40 per month. With all these, you will have unlimited text.
You can select both the Talk plans and the Connect plan and go with whatever selections you make on either a line or 2. Here also, an additional line will cost you $15 more. One of the best things about the plans is that you are allowed to select the plans that you want based on your needs.
Although you can select the Talk only plan without selecting a connect plan, you cannot select a connect plan without adding a talk plan.

Consumer Cellular Phones
Like with most other network providers, Cellular has its own phones which can be bought from its website. The phones are available for those who may need something very simple like a flip phone or a smartphone from popular manufacturers including Samsung, Motorola, and Apple. The prices of the phones vary according to what you need.
If, on the other hand, you have a phone that you want to use, the network also allows for one to bring one’s phone and get a SIM card for free.
For a phone you are bringing to work, it has to either be previously used with AT&T or T-Mobile, or it has to be an unlocked phone. Also, the SIM compatibility is not something to worry about since the cards provided are in all sizes: Nano, Micro, and Standard.
Before you will be able to connect to the network, you will need to activate your service or phone whether you brought your phone or you got one from Consumer Cellular. There are different activation methods for the two situations.
For a phone from the network
If you buy a phone from the network, you can either do the activation online or by phone. For a customer who has requested a new number assigned by the network, you will have your phone already activated.
If you are porting your number or transferring it from another carrier to the network:
- You will need to log into My Account and then select Activate Your Equipment
- From there, all you need to do is to follow the steps requested to complete the activation.
- If you are finding it hard to follow, you can call the network with another line on (888) 345-5509 to have it done for you.
For a phone you brought
If you brought the phone yourself, you will find your activation code on the SIM card that you must have ordered. The code is important in the activation process.
- Again, you will need to log into My Account and then select Activate Your Equipment
- Just like the first, you will need to log into your account and then follow the provided processes.
- If you are having any problem following the online processes, you can reach to Consumer Cellular’s customer center to have it done for you via phone. So as not to get the process interrupted, it is advised that you call the center using another phone. The center number is (888) 345-5509.
After you are through with the activation, you should receive your settings. However, if you don’t get the APN which you will need for internet and MMS.
